Where is Robinvale?

Robinvale, situated almost 500 kilometres from both Melbourne and Adelaide, is equipped with amenities and services normally available only to larger regional towns.

Robinvale's climate offers excellent outdoor living activities, ranging from a wide variety of sporting activities to the exploration of the Murray River.

The district has a population of approximately 6,000 and local facilities have been developed through the initiatives of local government and private enterprise to cater for the needs of residents and tourists alike.

Agriculture

Robinvale is the centre of a large irrigation district, that produces mainly table and wine grapes. Citrus and stone fruits (peaches, nectarines, plums etc) are also grown around the area, as well as several large vegetable farms, growing everything from carrots to broccoli and asparagus. Robinvale also boasts an extremely large olive farm, extensive dryland farming and the largest almond farm in Australia. Agriculture is the largest industry in Robinvale, providing a healthy economy in the town and a wealth of employment opportunities.

Commercial and Retail Facilities

The township is serviced by a large supermarket, and a very active business district, with retail facilities offering a broad range of goods and services. Robinvale is very fortunate to have a large Community Arts Centre. It is sited on the banks of the Murray River and offers facilities for a wide range of events including live theatre, cinema, art exhibitions and functions such as weddings and birthday parties, catering for up to 600 people in a main auditorium and 350 seats in the theatre.

Sporting Opportunities

Robinvale's sunny climate allows for a diverse range of sporting activities including football, cricket, rugby, tennis, lawn bowls, golf, table tennis, harness racing, greyhound racing, fishing, water skiing, swimming, rowing, basketball, netball and badminton to name a few, with facilities for each of these located in the town. The golf course is equipped with 18 grass greens and well watered fairways. The Robinvale Golf Club also provides excellent meals to members and guests most week nights. The tennis club offers 21 lawn courts situated on the banks of the mighty Murray River.

The Euston Bowling and Recreation Club is located over the river, just a few kilometres from Robinvale and provides a range of member services at very low cost. Meals are served every day in a spacious and air conditioned dining room.

Nearby Regional Centres

Mildura is located just 87 kilometres to the west with a district population of approximately 40,000 and host to a great variety of specialist medical and ancillary services, plus very large and complex shopping facilities. Mildura airport provides several daily return services to Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide and is a comfortable hours drive from Robinvale. To the south-east is the regional city of Swan Hill with a district population of approximately 15,000. Robinvale is part of the Swan Hill Municipality and the Shire Office located in town provide residents with all relevant support.
