Year 12 – Term Two Report
It has been a very busy term for the Year 12s. With SACs aplenty and continual assessment, there is always stress in the Year 12 course. The use of their study periods is crucial to catch up on missed work or to study for SACs and most of the Year 12s are taking full advantage of these.
The MIPs (Managed Individual Pathways) program is in full swing and there has been valuable and animated discussions and forums about post Year 12 decisions and what they can expect after they leave RSC. VCE students have been fully briefed on the application process for university and students have been researching and recording possible courses since Term One.
Our two Year 12 captains, Lil Zappia and Philip Smith, represented the College with dignity and pride when they attended the Anzac Day service. They were dressed impeccably in the College’s formal uniform and there were many comments from members of the community who attended the event.
The Cross Country was a great success and the Year 12s went out with a bang. Dressed up in a peculiar mix of spandex and flouro, the Year12s enjoyed their last Cross Country.

The midyear exams were held earlier this month and all of the Year 12 students attended the GAT, the annual General Achievement Test.
The Year 12s attended the Sunraysia Year 12 ball and were, as usual, a credit to the College, their parents and themselves. A great night was had by all and the food from the Gourmet Chef was fantastic (that’s for Sue and Maryanne…)

Last week, our VET Music students organized and ran an extremely successful Variety Night at the community centre. Congratulations to the Year 12s involved – Sione, Manu, Ilaisa, Marie and Pauline

This week, another showdown between staff and the Year 12s will occur, this time in Netball. The Year 12s are talking themselves up and with the staff as the underdogs; I know who everyone will be supporting…
On the last day of term, the Year 12s are hosting a ‘Shout a Mate’ formal luncheon. The Year 12s are inviting one friend or relative to enter the esteemed hallowed grounds of the Year 12 lounge. They will be treated to a sumptuous lunch, all cooked and prepared by the Year 12 students.
Year 12 will be given holiday homework. I ask that parents and guardians provide space and time for this to be completed or they will be required to complete the missed work at lunchtime sessions that will be held throughout term three.
Finally, to the Year 12s, have a safe and relaxing break. Have some time off but don’t lose focus of what you want to achieve, and what you need to do to accomplish your pathway into the future.
See you all next term, bright eyed and bush tailed!!
